Day 4

  • After breakfast ride south and then east to Trincomalee, the eastern capital Trincomalee.
  • Enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city and proceed to accommodation at nearby Nilaveli beach.

Day 5

  • Ride south along the eastern coastline, to Arugambay, a rural coastal village well known for some of the best surf breaks in the world.
  • Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beach and take a surf lesson.

Day 6

  • In the morning, ride toward Nuwara Eliya, in the central mountain regions of Sri Lanka.
  • Stay in the center of town making it easy to explore the scenic town and its suburbs.

Day 7

  • Descend from the central hills via the scenic “Ella Gap” and then head south to Yala National Park.
  • Check in to campsite bordering the park in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon safari (approx. 3-6pm)

Day 8

  • Ride to Colombo via the picturesque low country plantations in Ratnapura and Kiriella.

  • City tour and early evening visit to the sacred Temple of the Tooth, one of the world’s most important Buddhist shrines.

  • Optional 18km ride up to the tea plantation. (Steep climb on a good tarmac)

North and East Coast Tour

North and East Tour Sri Lanka: 13 Nights / 14 Days

This itinerary covers the less explored north and east of the island. A 30-year civil war, which ended in 2009 is the main reason why these regions have been kept off the usual tourist trail. Post 2009, these areas have blossomed into world class destinations.

The east coast has the best beaches in Sri Lanka, whilst Jaffna and its surrounding islands offer a unique experience into a culture very different to the rest of Sri Lanka.   • Just after mid-night, ascend the sacred peak along with hundreds of local pilgrims in time to enjoy sunrise.
